Ok, who felt that earthquake last night? Apparently, it was a 5.2 centered in Borrego Springs, and it happened at 1:05 am. It woke me up and I immediately knew it was an earthquake. Blake was next to me and I said “Blake it’s an earthquake!” and he casually goes “Oh, I’ve never felt an earthquake before…” and drifts back to sleep. How was he so calm?! The actual quake itself wasn’t that scary, but as soon as I feel an earthquake, all I can think about is if there’s a bigger one on the way! I immediately got on my phone; these situations are when I really appreciate Twitter, because you can get immediate news and updates even before news sources have had time to post it online. Check the hashtag #earthquake for some great tweets (Some informative and some funny!)
Needless to say, I couldn’t go back to sleep, and we had to wake up at 4:30 anyways to get to the airport. Today will call for a lot of coffee ;). It’s also Lo’s first time flying – we are on the plane as I type and she’s being an absolute champ! I will let you know how that goes soon, along with some advice for traveling with a pet.
I have been meaning to post about this speaker for a while now, because I seriously love it. I wanted a portable/waterproof speaker for a long time that had GOOD sound, so I did a tone of research and finally decided to get the UE Megaboom. Guys, it’s awesome. We use it in our house, take it to the beach, on hikes, camping, at the beach, you name it. So many of our friends have commented on how great the sound is and have ended up buying their own. I love the size we have, and now I want to get the smaller one for traveling!

This West Elm rug that I’ve had my eye on forever is finally on sale….should I do it?!! Gah!
Speaking of home decor, I loved this article posted by Vogue – 12 Home Decor Mistakes All 20-Somethings Make. Since I don’t have the excuse of being in my 20s anymore, I’m really trying to find ways to up my decor game, which definitely includes branching out from IKEA (with the occasional IKEA hack, of course ;)) I love the advice in the article, including the recommendations for oversized artwork, better pillows, better lighting, and investing in pieces that you love (like that West Elm rug I want…right?!)
Alright, happy happy Friday! We are spending the week in Seattle with my whole family, and I’m crazy excited. Can’t wait to tell you all about it (and travel details and tips with Lo, of course!)
