Friendsgiving | 2015

This year, I wanted to start a new tradition here in California with some friends that are family.  We are constantly traveling and leaving this beautiful place we call home, especially for holidays, that sometimes we forget how great it can be to just stay home.  I am so thankful to live here, and feel so grateful and lucky to have friends that we can count on.  Hence – the first annual Friendsgiving at our house…

R.A.W. Restorations | Reclaimed Wood Art

Since we moved, I’ve been having so much fun deciding what I want our new space to look like.  The thing I was MOST excited about our new place was the guest bedroom – the fact that we now have a comfortable place for people to come stay!  Literally the biggest reason we moved – I love guests! I wanted a piece in the room that would tie together the mismatched furniture.  I’d seen some…

What I’m Into This Week | 11.13.15

It’s Friday the 13th!  Normally that would freak me out, except yesterday was SO weird for me that I figured today couldn’t be any worse ;).  I got up early after not sleeping well, got in the car and proceeded to spill a HUGE mug of bulletproof coffee all over my passenger seat, was late to work because of (worse than normal) traffic, and then bit my tongue SO HARD while trying to scarf down a luna…

Legend Creek | The Loft

I wanted to post about this house today for two reasons!  One, because I haven’t posted about the amazing loft, and it needs to be posted about.  And two, because it’s for sale and the price has just been reduced.  If you are looking for a home in Utah or know someone looking, I think you should go look at this one ;). For more pictures and information on the home, check out these posts and…

Legend Creek | Master Suite

By popular demand, today I’m talking about the master bedroom and bathroom in the Legend Creek home!  I love this master suite for so many reasons.  Obviously the most striking thing to notice right off is the wall of reclaimed wood in a chevron print.  So good!  The raw goodness of the wall is perfectly balanced by soft whites and golds, with some cooler greys and blues.  Scroll below for more pictures and details…and keep…

Legend Creek | Main Living Area

This big, open living area is the heart of the home, where we know memories will be made for the family that ends up living here!  (Did I mention this house is for sale?  Although I’m going to be really sad to see it go…it could be yours’!)  Our favorite part about the room is definitely the white brick fireplace, that extends all the way to the 18-foot tall ceiling.  The fireplace will soon be a working gas…

Legend Creek | Kitchen & Dining

One of the best things about this house is that Tahni was willing to combine different styles to get the look she really wanted.  The kitchen/dining area creates an eclectic blend with open shelving, classic white subway tiling, a big white farmhouse sink, antique gold hardware, and midcentury modern lighting.  The island is another striking nod to mid-century modern style, with an extra thick white quartz waterfall countertop.  Who says you can’t have it all? 😉 The Lighting One…

Dinner for Two | Seared Salmon with Barley

I had to post this recipe, because it was so simple and satisfying.  Disclaimer: it’s another salmon recipe.  I know I post a lot of salmon but hey, we EAT a lot of salmon.  And I feel like it’s so easy to cook without a lot of fuss/ingredients, and still tastes so good!  Which is exactly how I feel about this recipe… Ingredients: 2 skinless salmon fillets 1/2 cup pearled barley 3 ounces baby spinach…

Watermelon Detox Smoothie

My favorite spot to grab lunch in Laguna serves a “Watermelon Detox Smoothie” that I love, so I decided to start making my own at home.  It’s a simple recipe- just watermelon, lime, green grapes, and cayenne.  I love how I feel after this drink – not only is it refreshing, but it’s like I literally feel it detoxifying my stomach. (This might be due the fact that I keep putting extra cayenne pepper in mine…hey,…
