Lately, Blake’s been really determined to improve his surfing abilities.  If there are waves when he finishes work, he’ll come grab me and we’ll hurry over to the beach to see what he can catch before the sun goes down.  I usually just post up on a blanket or a life guard tower and watch him.  (Not to sound like a bum, but it takes a lot warmer weather/water and perfect waves for me to attempt to surf!)  At first I was lonely, sitting there on the beach by myself while he’s out in the water.  Now I’m starting to love that time to unwind from the work day, watch the sun go down, call people I am missing, read, and think.  A few times, I’ve thought about how I should actually put on workout clothes and do a beach run while he’s out there, but for now it’s hard to beat cozying up in a sweater and watching the waves (I can’t stop wearing the Fisherman Crew from Callahan…it’s so good.)

When I find a good sweater, I can’t help but think about the lyrics from The Neighbourhood…

“I stand
In California with my toes in the sand
Use the sleeves of my sweater
Let’s have an adventure
Head in the clouds but my gravity’s centered…

…’Cause it’s too cold
For you here and now
So let me hold
Both your hands in the holes of my sweater.”

Blake’s forever keeping me warm…so that songs for you, baby!
