The dining area has undergone many mini transformations since we moved in – a lot of DIY, a little actual construction, and lots of future plans/dreams, mostly of turning that cabinet area into a legit wet bar! But the last addition, a round table and a dining bench, have been beautiful game changers. I could go on and on, but I LOVE the vibes that were instantly created when the round table showed up. Even though I didn’t technically lose any space or seating from the long oval table that we had before, conversations instantly became more intimate and all-inclusive.

When the dining bench showed up, I couldn’t believe how much I loved it. The girls and I have sat there SO comfy having snacks, doing homework, watching a movie while eating dinner. We’ve even had our first night of friends for dinner since we’ve had it and everyone loved the special vibe it creates. And I feel like I’ve finally found a way to incorporate the fireplace I love so much in a cozy way, despite the oddly shaped room. I foresee many girls/ dinners stretching into nights with wine in this spot, especially during this winter season!
