Sheets! A comfortable bed is everything! Everyone wants a good night sleep, and I want to make my guests as comfortable as possible so they’ll want to come back ;). My guest room is tiny, but it’s got a big ol’ king bed that’s so comfortable, and everyone who sleeps on it asks me where the sheets/duvet are from! I just searched my text messages quickly and found these and it’s making me laugh…
Good news is that they’re on major sale right now for Black Friday – it’s already started and they’re offering up to 50% off sitewide!! This is the exact set I have on that bed – I bundled and got sheets, pillow cases, and the duvet cover – but you can’t go wrong with any of their sheet sets or bundles!
I am also a long time lover of this brand for sheets (and pajamas), I first worked for them maybe 15 years ago and I’ve had a set of sheets since then and I love them. Their Black Friday sale starts on the 27th! They also have amazing towels and robes!
And then I’ve posted about the sheets/bedding on my bed before in this reel – go watch it if you haven’t! You can either comment “shop” on that reel for the details, or I’ll include them below as well!
MY favorite sheets (I have the color “sour cream”) | Duvet Cover | Quilted Shams | Throw Blanket | Bed | Bench/Trunk | Nightstands | Rug | Nespresso | Overhead Light
Guest Robes. And that brings me to robes!! I love to leave robes/slippers out for my guests, whether it’s for the pool, hot tub, or shower, because what screams luxury hotel more than that? I die over this waffle knit robe – I actually got to be a model on the shoot before they came out, and we were all obsessed the second we put them on. I love to leave robes either folded on the bed when guests arrive or hanging on a hook on the guest bedroom door. They would also make a really great gift for someone if you want to get them something loungey/comfy but aren’t sure of their exact size! Comes in three colors, but I love to have white for guests. Honestly, I like to have white everything for guests because as a clean FREAK I feel like white let’s people know everything is clean and fresh!
Good Pillows. I have ordered these a few times now, I think they’re great. And for myself, I’m obsessed with the Coop pillow. I never want to go anywhere without it! A friend told me about it after I was complaining about my neck and it changed my life! The thing that makes it so amazing is what they use to fill it AND the fact that it’s adjustable. The filling is a proprietary blend of medium firm memory-foam-and-microfiber fill, but you have the option to take some out OR add some (they send extra filling with the pillow) to make it perfect for what YOU like. I want to order more for the girls and guests during the Black Friday sale – right now they’re 25% off!!
Extra Blankets. Make sure you show your guests where to find extra blankets! I run hot at night, but you never know if someone might get cold, so I want them to have an extra blanket to throw on if they need it. These are insanely soft and I love the size and weight – there’s a reason literally every influencer is posting about them ;). Get the “large” if you want someone in a Queen or King sized bed to feel like they can pull it up over them at night! I love the colors Creamy Cloud, Honey Cloud, and CLJ A La Mode, but there are so many good colors depending on where you’re going to keep it! These also make amazing gifts.
Duraflame logs. I have a wood burning fireplace, which I love, but it’s a hassle for me to get it started and keep it going when I use real wood. But I LOVE the ambiance a fire creates this time of year, so I love to cheat and just throw a Duraflame log on there for the evening. My favorite are the ones that crackle so it feels like a “real” fire, and I’ve found the best prices ordering here. They ship super fast and I don’t have to go through the hassle of carrying the heavy boxes through the store and to and from my car!
Paper goods! Make sure you stock up on toilet paper and paper towels! I usually just order from Costco! And then I love to have these disposable towels for the bathrooms (it always grosses me out at parties when the bathroom hand towel is wet from so many people using it!) and these (they’ve become so popular for clean skin!) in the guest bathroom for people to wash their faces. They would also make a GREAT gift for any skincare-obsessed person on your list, paired with this cute box. Both on currently on sale for Black Friday!
Coffee! Make sure you know if they drink coffee and how they take it! If I stay somewhere and find out there’s no coffee in the morning, I panic! I always make sure to have coffee ready to go – I like to set this coffee pot to brew before I go to bed in case my guests get up before me, there will be coffee ready in the kitchen! I got it as a wedding gift and have had it for over ten years and it still works/looks like new, there’s just something about a classic tried and true appliance! I also have a couple of this Nespresso model (currently on sale for $99 from $159, this would make a great gift!) with these pods on the nightstand next to the guest bed, in case they want to have their coffee in private before they face the rest of the house ;). I LOVE coffee from a Nespresso – the way you get that foam on the top without even frothing it! Another great option is this single serve coffee maker from Drew Barrymore’s Walmart line – I seriously can’t believe how cute and inexpensive her stuff is and so far every appliance I’ve tried works really well (I have the air fryer, the toaster, and now this coffee maker). You just put the beans in the top and it grinds them fresh right before it makes a cup! I also have to remember to ask people if they like sugar, milk, and/or cream because I drink my coffee black so I don’t always have it on hand. Lastly, I love to keep these to-go coffee cups on hand in case someone is hitting the road and wants to take coffee with them!
**If your guests aren’t coffee drinkers, ask them what they like/need! I’ve never had a diet Coke in my life so it’s never in my house, but I know some people can’t go without it! Or maybe they love tea, or matcha, a certain kind of ice, whatever it is! It means a lot to people to have their beverage of choice, and starts their morning the right/most comfortable way for them!
Good Smells. I like to have candles in the guest room and bathrooms, but it’s hard to always have those burning. I’m paranoid about my house either smelling like dogs or cleaner, so I try to air it out as much as possible as well as use and air purifier. After all of that tho, my best trick is to use a diffuser. Whenever I’ve had this scent going, people freak out when they walk in, ask what it is, and have usually ordered it on Amazon before they’ve left my house. I love this diffuser – it’s a perfect dupe for a much more expensive, trendy one I used to have and I literally think it’s the same thing.
Again, the combo of this scent with this diffuser would make a great gift, or even a fun thing to being to a favorite thing party!
Souvenir. If someone is visiting from out of town, I LOVE the idea of leaving them a little souvenir – something specific to your hometown – on their bed or nightstand as a gift when they arrive. It can be something little and simple, like oranges from the tree in your backyard if you’re lucky enough to have them! I usually leave wine because I happen to live next to the Fallbrook Winery, or avocados because my town is known as the “Avocado Capitol of the World.”
I keep thinking of more I want to add to this list but I’m going to cut myself off here because my girls are out of school today and I think they really need lunch ;). But I LOVE hosting, so I want to make this a working post and come back here again and again to add things as I think of them, so I hope you do, too!
Happy Hosting!
