A few weeks ago, we went to Yosemite with some really great friends. Our friend Robbie has a cabin in Bass Lake and has been going his whole life. Needless to say, he and Leila were able to show us some really amazing spots, and we already can’t wait to go back with them. We were only there for a few days but we saw a lot, ate lots of good food, and got in a few rounds of our current favorite game – Sequence.
Our first day there, they took us into the park to do a hike, but we stopped at this viewpoint and got our first view of Half Dome. We were like, woah ;).

After our hike, we raced up the mountain to catch the sunset at Glacier Point. We didn’t realize it was actually a full moon that night, and ohhh my gosh was it beautiful! The boys had fun messing around with their cameras – the moon was so bright that their pictures of Half Dome almost looked like daylight! And then we had fun taking spooky full moon pictures of each other ;).
Robbie keeps dirt bikes at their house in Bass Lake, so we had fun one morning ripping around Bass Lake on them. It was a great way to see Bass Lake, and reminded me of when I was younger and we’d take off on our little Honda 90s all day with my cousins.Robbie showed us a special spot they go in the summer to swim and play on the rocks, and we loved it.Jen’s Outfit: Monrow Top |Sundry Flannel Shirt | Vigoss Jeans | Timberland Boots | Sunski Glasses | Brixton Beanie
We hauled it back up to Glacier point on another evening to catch the sunset again, but this time it was so cloudy we couldn’t see the sun. It was almost better, it seemed kind of mystical in the gloom :).

Robbie decided to scare us all by going out on this ledge. I can barely look at these pictures…Blake didn’t get quite as far, to my relief ;).Thanks to Blake and Robbie for capturing all of these scenes on camera. And thanks to Robbie and Leila for showing us such an amazing place!
Yosemite, you have our hearts. Until next time…
