Kauai is for Lovers…

…of adventure! ūüėČ ¬†We had such a good time in Kauai this past week, and we decided it really is the ultimate destination for adventurous vacationers! ¬†While it’s so beautiful, laid back, and relaxing, it can also be exciting if you’re looking for an adventure. I actually went for a shoot for Albion Fit, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work with them. ¬†I also really love their photographer, Jessica. ¬†Since I was…

Tennies and Fish Tacos

Lately I’m obsessed with comfy shoes, chips and guac,¬†Homeland, and Blake. ¬†I’m going through a phase where all I want to do is eat chips and guac on my couch and watch TV with him. ¬†I think my body needs a winter season to rest up, so it’s hibernating in its own way – even if the rest of Southern California still feels like summer!¬† Over the holidays, Blake’s cousin told us he thought we’d…

Our Christmas Vacation

Blake and I have had an amazing time in Utah with our families this Christmas! ¬†Lots of good food, family traditions, and winter weather. ¬†I really don’t want it to end! ¬†We’ve been back and forth between staying at my sister’s house and Blake’s parents, which has been so nice to be able to spend time with everyone. We have a family tradition of “door ditching” Christmas on Christmas Eve to a family in need,…

Weekend in Beaver Creek: FIS Alpine World Cup

Hi! ¬†This weekend, Blake and I took off to Beaver Creek in Colorado to watch his brother Steven race in¬†the FIS Alpine World Cup. ¬†I wasn’t familiar with the world of ski racing until I met the Nymans,¬†and I’ve loved being a part of the excitement! ¬†The energy and vibe around it all is so great – being at a race is so much fun. ¬†And since this race (called Birds of Prey) is the…

Cold Weather Travel Outfit

I feel like I am forever traveling, and lately it’s¬†to places much colder than Southern California! ¬†I always struggle with what to pack and wear on travel days, but these past couple trips I’ve found a go-to travel day outfit that hasn’t yet done me wrong. ¬†And here’s the key – layering! ¬†It’s hard to prepare for cold weather when I’m leaving my apartment in 80 degrees, but when I step off that plane at…

Quinoa Chicken Parmesan

In my efforts to be GF (that’s gluten free for those of you who haven’t been out to eat since 2010), I REALLY miss the¬†bready goodness that¬†it brings. ¬†I recently heard that it’s possible to use quinoa for breading, so I decided to be adventurous and try this Quinoa Chicken Parmesan. ¬†Basically, you use cooked quinoa to bread the chicken. ¬†It was so good! ¬†It gave the chicken a thick, crispy crust that I might…

Recipes From My Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

Since we had a nice sit-down dinner for our wedding reception, we wanted our¬†rehearsal dinner for the wedding party and family to be more fun and casual. ¬† And since it was so beautiful up at Sundance that time of year, we wanted to be able to be outside with a view. ¬†So we decided to have a BBQ, and Blake’s parents actually made the food, with the help of one of Becky’s good friends.…

Working in Scottsdale

“There is nothing gutsier to me than a person announcing that their story is one that deserves to be told, especially if that person is a woman. ¬†As hard as we have worked and as far as we have come, there are still so many forces conspiring to tell women that our concerns are petty, our opinions aren’t needed, that we lack the gravitas necessary for our stories to matter. ¬†That personal writing by women…
