We took Romy and Piper to the pumpkin patch on Friday, and once again I was surprised at how much they seemed to know what was going on and love it. Before we went, we just had little tiny pumpkins at home on our mantle. The girls love to play with them, and Romy loves to hold them and whisper, “Pumpkin.” I told them that we were going to a place that would have tons of really big pumpkins, and when we got there, their eyes got so wide!

A few pros and cons I have to say about pumpkin patches:

Pros:

They are fun and festive, and really help get into the spirit of the season.

I love that most pumpkin patches have so many other activities for the kids. The particular one we went to on Friday had a corn maze, a patch of huge sunflowers, a wagon ride, a petting zoo, a U-pick veggie patch, and a pumpkin cannon. Lots to do!!

Cons:

It seemed like almost everyone there was there for photo-op. I realize that sounds hypocritical coming from a blogger, but it almost felt like a big set/photo shoot. We were lucky to have our friends Josh and Carly with us (both photographers) and they snapped some quick photos as we went through so we were still able to experience things.

The pumpkins were SO expensive!!! We were laughing because we picked out four pumpkins and when the lady rang the first one up and told us the total I was like “uh, we’ll put two back!” I’ll just head to the grocery store (Home Depot or Trader Joe’s are great options!) and they are just as good of quality and half the price! I saw this funny meme today and thought it was perfect:

Here are a ton of photos of our pumpkin patch evening…because isn’t it all about that photo op? 😉

Note about my shirt: a friend of ours’ created this shirt to raise money for victims of the horrible California wildfires. 100% of proceeds go to helping them, and it’s actually a really rad shirt! Good material and fit, and I love the design. It’s only $35, and you can get one here while they last!!

I seriously can’t wait for the rest of the holiday season with these amazing little girls!!

xx
