Every year I intend to come up with really amazing DIY wrapping ideas.  Sometimes I actually execute, but this year I decided to go for easy.  Then I discovered the Sugar Paper line options at Target and got so excited!!  It’s all so cute, without all the DIY.  So if you’re looking for an easy option that still looks good, just order online from Target and you’ll good to go ;).  With Express shipping, you can get it all next day, or if it’s in stock you can just choose to pick it up in store from the customer service counter and avoid the craze of going through the store.

PUTTING LIGHTS ON YOUR TREE

And now here’s a little bonus because I just had to share…I learned a new method (new for me, maybe some of you already know!) for putting lights on our tree – The Triangle Method!  Basically, you mentally divide your tree into triangles.  We had four strands of 200 lights, so we divided ours into four quadrants basically.  Then you start at the top of your tree (with the female end on top) and zig-zag the lights down within that triangle or quadrant, making sure not to cross the lights over themselves.  It makes for an easy, no tangle removal and you don’t have to be walking around and around the tree to wrap the lights.  Hope that all makes sense – here’s a little illustration that helped me: How To Put Lights on Your Tree

Genius, right?!  A couple more tips that helped us:

  • Keep your lights plugged in while you’re putting them on the tree – it will be easier to see where they need to go!
  • After you’re done, step back from the tree and let your eyes go out of focus (to where the tree seems blurry, weird I know) and look for any dark spots to see if you need to adjust any lights.

Can you tell I’m in full Christmas mode?!  Merry Christmas!!!
