Since we moved, I’ve been having so much fun deciding what I want our new space to look like.  The thing I was MOST excited about our new place was the guest bedroom – the fact that we now have a comfortable place for people to come stay!  Literally the biggest reason we moved – I love guests!

I wanted a piece in the room that would tie together the mismatched furniture.  I’d seen some custom work by my friend Kate Jensen of R.A.W. Restorations, so I started talking to her about what she could do.  You guys…she’s amazing!  She was SO fun to work with, and so incredibly talented.

A bit about her company, R.A.W. Restorations: It’s a company started by Kate and her Dad – how amazing is that?  They literally find forgotten barns (if you knew my love of abandoned barns, you’d already know why this company has my heart!), disassemble them, and combine the wood with discarded industrial steel, metal, and piping to make amazing pieces of furniture and art.

There are ready-to-purchase, VERY reasonably priced pieces on their site now, but I also recommend talking to Kate about designing your own custom piece.  There’s nothing like having a piece that you know is unique to you, seriously!  They also do custom shelving, walls, flooring, and paneling for homes.  Check their full site out here, and I highly suggest following them on Instagram ;).

I seriously can’t wait to show you the dining table Kate designed for us, too….Ahhhhh!  Posts on that coming next week ;).
