2015 World Championships | Beaver Creek, CO

I was born into a ski family, so I didn’t really have a choice. For the first seven years, it was me and my two older brothers, then my little brother jumped in the mix. Of course skiing was a part of his life too. All of our lives were somehow intertwined with the sport, culture, industry and/or past time. My oldest brother, Michael was a ski patrolmen. Steven is an Olympic ski racer on…

Our Christmas Vacation

Blake and I have had an amazing time in Utah with our families this Christmas!  Lots of good food, family traditions, and winter weather.  I really don’t want it to end!  We’ve been back and forth between staying at my sister’s house and Blake’s parents, which has been so nice to be able to spend time with everyone. We have a family tradition of “door ditching” Christmas on Christmas Eve to a family in need,…

Weekend in Beaver Creek: FIS Alpine World Cup

Hi!  This weekend, Blake and I took off to Beaver Creek in Colorado to watch his brother Steven race in the FIS Alpine World Cup.  I wasn’t familiar with the world of ski racing until I met the Nymans, and I’ve loved being a part of the excitement!  The energy and vibe around it all is so great – being at a race is so much fun.  And since this race (called Birds of Prey) is the…

Working in Scottsdale

“There is nothing gutsier to me than a person announcing that their story is one that deserves to be told, especially if that person is a woman.  As hard as we have worked and as far as we have come, there are still so many forces conspiring to tell women that our concerns are petty, our opinions aren’t needed, that we lack the gravitas necessary for our stories to matter.  That personal writing by women…

Working in Puerto Rico

This Saturday morning, I happen to be in Puerto Rico!  I’m here for work, but so excited to see and experience a new place since I’ve never been.  We are staying in Old Town San Juan, in this amazing hotel called El Convento.  It’s an old convent, and has so much charm, character, and history.  My kind of place ;). Yesterday we had some time to walk around and explore, waiting for the rest of…

Home for a Reunion

Guys…I’m HOME!  Like, HOME.  Back to my Seattle roots!  And it’s BEAUTIFUL here.  There really isn’t anything better than a sunny day in the Pacific Northwest.  Today happens to be the wedding of two of my favorite people AND my ten year high school reunion.  Where has the time gone?! This morning I’m sipping on the protein smoothie my Mom always insists on making me (she got the recipe from her trainer, so here ya go!)…
