Yesterday we ventured up to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena with our friend Charlie to watch one of the coolest events I’ve seen in a while.  Shaun White brought Air & Style to LA, and even that normally takes place overseas.  It was a mashup of big air skiing and snowboard competitions and awesome music, along with some good food and vendors.  When we first walked in and saw the big ramp, built on scaffolding and covered in snow in the middle of Pasadena, it kind of took my breath away.  So cool!

Blake’s good friend Jossi Wells was so kind to hook us up with all-access passes, and we honestly had a blast.  It’s really fun for me to see Blake in his element, around his old ski buddies and that whole world (even if we have to stop every two minutes to say hi to someone else he knows!!)  He kind of just lights up, and it’s something I don’t get to see much now that we are living down in California.  It’s so cool for me to see guys like Jossi and Joss and how much respect they have for the things Blake taught them, and to hear them all reminiscing about the good old days skiing with him.

Some of the highlights were watching the big air competition (of course), watching musical performances by Bad Things, Phantogram, Portugal the Man, Black Lips, and Kendrick Lamar, yummy food (and Kombucha for me!), Mayor B., and dinner afterwards at the athlete’s hotel with Jossi, his wife Hannah, and others.  Some snaps from the day…

Congrats to Jossi on a 4th place finish, to all the other guys competing, and to Shaun White for hosting such a rad event!
