To my precious Romy and amazing Piper,
Watching you grow over the past month has been an amazing and unique experience. To see you tiny beauties come into this world so early, having to fight for every little breath and then to get to where you’re at now, I’m already so so proud of you. I feel so lucky to be your Dad.
While we haven’t been able to start our life at home yet, being a part of your life here in the NICU has already been so inspiring. You’ve shown everyone around you how tough and determined you two are to make an impact on this world. Already, you’ve influenced so many people with your larger than life strength.
There’s a beautiful life waiting for you outside of the NICU. Your big sister Lo is waiting at home, along with your new room and all the fun things from us, friends and family. But before we can move to that next stage of life, we have a few more hurdles to get over in here my babes, which I have no doubt you will.
You have so many people cheering you on and loving the progress you’re showing every day. You’re loved by just as many, and it’s shown your mom and me how amazing and supportive our friends and family are. We are all truly lucky to have them in our lives. Your mom and I are so so thankful for all the love and support people have shown both you and us. We cannot wait for you to meet all the many loving friends and family you have waiting for you.
We are so blessed by the love and care those around you in the NICU have given us. They are special relationships that were started during the first days and even seconds of your lives, that will continue on for many many years to come. We’re so thankful to have had these guardian angels in such a crucial and sensitive time.
Keep it up my little loves. You’ve already melted my heart and made me so happy in your first month. We have a life full of adventure, learning and loving ahead. I love you and cannot wait to share the rest of the world with you.
- Your Dad

BEAUTIFUL 😍
This post “a letter from dad” brought chills and tears to my eyes. Not only because of the great love that is communicated towards these babies, but because I could actually envision these babies being brought to tears by the words of love their dad gave to them – and the love and support of all of their friends and family. I just recently read a letter that I wrote 25 years ago to my baby daughter, and shared it with her as she is expecting her first baby next month. I think it really means alot to our children – all these years later, to read how loved they have been from the very beginning and through out their entire lives. You can say it a million times, but when you communicate it through a letter or a journal it really has a huge impact. God bless you two. I have been praying and will continue to pray for these beautiful little angels.
