I LOVE the 4th of July!  So much that we purposely decided to leave on our honeymoon after the fourth so that we could celebrate in America :).   However, after a whirlwind of a week (we got married out of state) we have only a couple days at home before we take off again, and that means I don’t have a whole lot of time to put into celebrating!  With a little bit of help from IKEA, Etsy, and simplified food, we had ourselves a little patio fourth of July party.  Although it was simple, it was perfect for us.

The Set-Up:

We’ve been dying for a patio table, and this table and chair set is at IKEA right now for $119!  Yep, $119 for the table AND four chairs.  Such a steal, and I think it’s so cute.  It was super easy and quick to put together, too!  See below for information on where I found the rest of the dishes and decor:

Etsy Finds:

I found the cutest prints on Etsy, made by Angela Pope and sold in her shop called La Luna Designs.  She makes prints and invitations, and the designs are available for immediate download so if you’re short on time you can just download the file and print it out yourself!

The Food: I ALWAYS over-do it on food.  I find myself putting so much thought, preparation time, and money into food.  Normally I wouldn’t share the menu for this BBQ for the public to see, but sometimes you just gotta keep it simple!  I didn’t have time to get elaborate on the food, and didn’t want expensive leftovers to go to waste when we leave town again.  And come on, who doesn’t love an good old American hot dog?!  (Ok, probably a lot of people don’t like hot dogs…I however, am not one of them!) I served:

  • Organic all-beef hot dogs
  • Potato Chips
  • Spinach Salad
  • Berries & Fresh Whipped Cream
  • Lemon Water

Ok, SO – if you’re looking for a fun, fast way to set up a Fourth of July get-together, run to IKEA!  They have tons of red, white and blue, and it’s all so inexpensive! Keep your menu simple, and you can spend time enjoying the sun and your friends and family. Happy (almost) Fourth of July! Fourth of July Patio Party - The Golden Natives
